DIOCESE OF OWO 14TH SYNOD: AKEREDOLU CHARGES CHRISTIANS NOT TO RELENT PROPAGATING GOSPEL OF JESUS ...BISHOP FAGBEMI CALLS FOR THE RELEASE OF IGBOHO, KANU  Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON, has charged Christians to re-double their efforts by preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ beyond urban borders.  Gov. Akeredolu gave the charge at the second session of the fourteenth synod of the Diocese of Owo, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, held at the Cathedral of Saint Andrew, Imola, Owo.  The Governor who also doubles as the Chancellor of the Diocese of Owo was represented at the occasion by the Commissioner for Agriculture and Forestry, Mr Olayato Aribo, said he was delighted to be at the second session of the 14th Synod of the Diocese, particularly as the programme coincides with his birthday celebration, adding that the session provides an opportunity for us to give thanks and to look back to all that he has done for us.   Social Media Influencer, Sola Omoboyowa, bags Humanitarian Service Award An Ondo State born social media influencer and journalist, Sola Omoboyowa, has been honoured with an award of Humanitarian Service by Topshot News Magazine, in recognition of his silent strides in Humanitarian Services to the less privileged through the use of his social media platform.  Speaking to journalist at the Nigerian Union of Journalists pen house, Adegbemile, Akure, during the 4th anniversary of the magazine, Omoboyowa thanked the Editor in Chief of the Magazine, Mrs Ngozi Aduloju for the honour bestowed on him.  Thereafter, he dedicated the award to God, his family members, especially his wife, Prophetess Bukola Omoboyowa, for the support given to him in the service to humanity.  Omoboyowa added that he received the award on behalf of his fans on the social media, especially the blue app, whom he described as the owners of the award. GUINNESS WORLD RECORD: EKITI BANS HOSTING OF "KISSING MARATHON" EKITI State Government through the Ministry of Arts, Culture and Tourism has prohibited the hosting of a 3-day "kissing marathon" tagged "kiss-a-thon" in the State. This was contained in a letter signed by Mr. A.I. Adewusi, on behalf of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry; addressed to the Secretary, Ekiti State Hoteliers' Association and later available to Theretina .  According to the letter, "Kiss-a-thon as an event is not only absurd, unhealthy, immoral and capable of denigrating the image of the State. It is a programme that runs counter to the values of the people of the State and therefore capable of plunging youths morally backward. Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun has condemned the disturbing incident where a team of policemen ran a vehicle over a Nigerian on Thursday June 29, 2023 at Ekpoma, Edo State. Consequently, the IGP has directed the erring policemen, who have been in detention in Edo State, to report to the Force Headquarters Abuja on Monday for further action.
