 CSR PROJECT: Rex Forestry Renovates Storm-Damaged School in Ondo, Restores Learning for  Students    As part of its commitment to corporate social responsibility, a private firm, Rex Forestry Limited has handed over a fully renovated classroom and administrative block at the Comprehensive Secondary School, Leege–Imorun, Odigbo LGA, Ondo State, restoring the only secondary education facility serving over 15 rural communities. The intervention, executed under the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility programme, comes after a violent windstorm in 2025 severely damaged classrooms, offices, library, and science laboratory, forcing learning activities to a halt. BREAKING NEWS: IMO STATE GOVERNOR INCREASES WORKERS SALARY TO N104,000 MINIMUM WAGE Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has increased the minimum wage for workers in the state civil service to N104,000. ‎This figure is more than 25 percent of the current national minimum wage of N75,000. ‎The governor, in a declaration made during a meeting with members of the state labour force held at the Government House in Owerri, also announced that the monthly salary for medical doctors in the state civil service has been increased to N533,000. ‎According to the governor, for lecturers in state-owned tertiary institutions, the new entry-level salary will be N222,000. ‎Governor Uzodimma explained that the upward review of wages was made possible by a rise in the state’s internally generated revenue and an increase in federal allocations. ‎He emphasized that the new salary structure is aimed at stimulating Imo State’s economy and boosting the morale and productivity of civil servants. ‎Gover...

 6 States where 379997 candidates will retake 2025 UTME from May 16 (SEE FULL LIST & PROCEDURE ) The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a retake of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for 387,000 candidates across six states. JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, after a meeting held with education stakeholders in Abuja, admitted responsibility for the mass failure that trailed the examination. He announced that about 379,997 candidates in the just concluded 2025 examination would retake the examination.   UNIVERSITY SUSPENDS LECTURER FOR ALTERING 235 EXAMINATION RESULTS The management of a University in Nigeria has suspended one of its lecturers, Joseph Akpan, over alleged misconduct. The suspended lecturer allegedly altered 235 examination result scripts. The Vice-Chancellor, University of Calabar, Prof. Florence Obi, disclosed this on Wednesday in Calabar. Obi stated that Akpan, a Head of Department, allegedly altered students’ scores in a course - Introduction to General Antimicrobial Pharmacology (PHM 311). She claimed that Akpan altered the scores in 235 scripts out of the 242 scripts entrusted in his care, adding that only five scripts were genuinely marked without alteration. “The lecturer also (allegedly) gave out marks to two students, who did not participate in the examination,” she said.
