POLICE PRESENT OVER 70 MILLION NAIRA CHEQUES TO FAMILIES OF DECEASED OFFICERS IN ONDO
As part of efforts geared towards supporting the families of Police Officers who died in active service, the Inspector General of Police, IGP Adeolu Kayode Egbetokun, NPM, PhD, has allocated the sum of Seventy Million, Three Hundred and Forty Two Thousand, One Hundred and Ninety Naira, Eighty Nine Kobo (N70,342,190.89k) to the next of kins of deceased officers in Ondo State.
This initiative is in furtherance of the IGP Family Welfare Scheme, designed to provide financial relief and assistance to bereaved Police families, ensuring they are supported during difficult times, and in recognition and acknowledgement of the sacrifices the fallen heroes have paid for the nation.
A statement by the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP. Funmilayo Odunlami, states that the Ondo State Commissioner of Police, CP Abayomi Peter Oladipo, who represented the Inspector General of Police, while presenting the cheques, urged the beneficiaries to invest the funds wisely, just as he encouraged them to consider ventures that would yield profits and improve their financial well-being.
In reaction, one of the recipients , Mrs Jennifer Jeremiah, expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police for the kind gesture, noting that the welfare package will go a long way to provide support for their families, particularly during this period of economic hardship.
