GUINNESS WORLD RECORD: EKITI BANS HOSTING OF "KISSING MARATHON"
EKITI State Government through the Ministry of Arts, Culture and Tourism has prohibited the hosting of a 3-day "kissing marathon" tagged "kiss-a-thon" in the State.
This was contained in a letter signed by Mr. A.I. Adewusi, on behalf of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry; addressed to the Secretary, Ekiti State Hoteliers' Association and later available to Theretina.
According to the letter, "Kiss-a-thon as an event is not only absurd, unhealthy, immoral and capable of denigrating the image of the State. It is a programme that runs counter to the values of the people of the State and therefore capable of plunging youths morally backward.
"... the Ministry of Arts, Culture and Tourism hereby prohibits the hosting of such event or any other events like it in any facility that wishes to continue to operate lawfully in Ekiti State", it reads.
Available reports have earlier revealed that the Ekiti State Hoteliers' Association had scheduled a 3-day "kissing marathon" towards setting a Guinness World Record.
