Breaking news: Ace Broadcaster, Lekan Olanrewaju is dead The media industry in Ondo State was on Saturday evening thrown into mourning following the death of a popular veteran Broadcaster in the State, Deacon Olalekan Olanrewaju.  Deacon Olanrewaju reportedly passed on Saturday evening during a church programme in Akure. A member of the church who preferred anonymity confirmed the death of the popular broadcaster to Positive FM. Deacon Olanrewaju was the pioneer anchor of the famous alternative dispute resolution programme  “IJOKO OJOGBON”  on Ondo State Owned television station, OSRC from where he got his appellation,  “ OLORI EBI”.  UTME top scorer, again, scores 8A1s, one B WAEC (see results) Kamsiyochukwu Nkechinyere Umeh, a student of Deeper Life High School, who gained nationwide recognition for achieving the highest score of 360 in the 2023 UTME, has continued to impress with her recent results from the West African Examination Council, WAEC. In a phone call with Vanguard, Kamsiyochukwu’s father, Mr. Umeh, shared that her daughter secured outstanding grades: A1 in Economics, Civic Education, English Language, Further Mathematics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Dyeing and Bleaching and Computer Science, while she earned a B2 in Physics.  Recall that the 16 year old  Kamsiyochukwu, has applied to the University of Lagos,  to study Chemical Engineering.  IGBOS IN NIGER REPUBLIC PROTEST AGAINST MILITARY ACTION BY ECOWAS ***as AU, ECOWAS, UN plan further dialogue with coup leaders Nigerians of Southeast extraction who live in the Niger Republic have protested against the proposed military action against coup leaders in Niger by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) led by Nigerian President Bola Tinubu. ECOWAS had last week given the Niger coup plotters led by General Abdourahamane Tchiani, seven days to return President Mohammed Bazoom to power or face military action. ECOWAS had also imposed sanctions on Niger, including halting all financial transactions and freezing its national assets, while the Nigerian government has cut off electricity supply to the country. Meanwhile, a delegation consisting of the representatives of the African Union, the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the United Nations have travelled to Niger to meet with the coup leaders. Lagos Bolt Driver Confesses Says Hike in Fuel Price Pushed Him Into Robbery A Lagos Bolt driver, Jeremiah Adeniran, has been apprehended for allegedly robbing some of his passengers, the police in Lagos have said. Adeniran, 29, said he resorted to armed robbery and crime due to the hike in fuel price which is occasioned by the removal of fuel subsidy in May 2023. Speaking during an interview with journalists on Friday in Ikeja, Adeniran said the subsidy removal on petrol crippled his business. “Before, I could do 15 trips a day, but after the rise in fuel prices, my business was no longer moving as I wanted, so I ventured into robbery,” he said. According to the suspect, his two other accomplices always stayed on the road to carry out the robbery. Adeniran, who claimed that he had only robbed his passengers on three occasions since he started last month, said he was arrested on Saturday when one of the victims sighted him and raised an alarm. “On Saturday morning, I entered a ...
