Ondo Court Grants Finance Commissioner, House of Assembly Stay of Execution The High Court of Justice sitting in Akure has granted the applications filed by the Ondo State Government in two separate suits involving the Commissioner for Finance, Mrs Omowumi Isaac, and the Ondo State House of Assembly. In both matters, presided over by Honourable Justice Sunday Olorundahunsi, the Court granted orders staying execution of its earlier rulings delivered on September 11, 2025, pending the determination of the appeals already filed by the Applicants. WHY CELESTIAL CHURCH SHEPHERD WAS MURDERED DURING SERVICE Suspected Assassins have killed the Shepherd of the Celestial Church of Christ, Hebrew Cathedral, Idiroko Border town, Ogun State during Service In Ogun State. Tragedy struck on Sunday when gunmen suspected to be hired assassins shot and killed the Shepherd-in-charge of a Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) in Idiroko Border town of Ipokia local government area of Ogun State. 6 States where 379997 candidates will retake 2025 UTME from May 16 (SEE FULL LIST & PROCEDURE ) The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a retake of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for 387,000 candidates across six states. JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, after a meeting held with education stakeholders in Abuja, admitted responsibility for the mass failure that trailed the examination. He announced that about 379,997 candidates in the just concluded 2025 examination would retake the examination. Prof. Oloyede, who wept profusely, intermittently wiping his face with a handkerchief, said he took full responsibility for the negligence of its staff. “As Registrar of JAMB, I hold myself personally responsible, including for the negligence of the service provider, and I unreservedly apologise for it and the trauma that it has subjected affected Nigerians to, directly and indirectly."
