Oijefon Youth Council appreciates stakeholders on successful hosting of Ile Oluji Youth Festival 2024
The much-anticipated 2024 Oijefon Youth Festival, themed “Your Destiny is in Your Hand”, concluded triumphantly, leaving an indelible mark on attendees and the wider community. The event, which was the last activity of this year's Ile-Oluji day celebration was held on Monday 23rd of December, 2024 at the Ile Oluji city round about.
The festival celebrated youth empowerment, talent, and leadership with record-breaking participation and enthusiasm. With over three hundred (300) young participants and visitors, the festival served as a vibrant platform for fostering unity, creativity, innovation, and resilience.
The event featured a diverse range of activities, including: inspiring talks from opinion leaders, motivational speakers, and community influencers on topics like, self-determination, career building, mental health and youth involvement in community development.
Talents were also showcased, as young artists, musicians, and performers displayed their skills, reflecting the community's vibrant and diverse cultural heritage; whilst interactive competitions, games contests, tech innovations and art exhibitions enabled participants, particularly youths, have access to various opportunities and challenge contests that enhance development of intuition.
Meanwhile, Resource Fairs where home and foreign based indigenes provided career guidance, rewards opportunities, and mentorship for youth development were also featured.
The Oijefon Youth Council (OYC), at the end of the programme, expressed its gratitude, saying, this year’s festival embodies the spirit of self-determination, while the theme resonated deeply with our youth, inspiring them to take charge of their future, and be useful for themselves and the community. The Council added that the overwhelming response from the community reflects a shared commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders.
The event’s success was made possible through the collaboration of the Ile-Oluji day planning committee under the chairmanship of Engr. Kehinde Akinrowo, Otunba Tom Daramola, Mr. Tunde Aladekere, Big Sam Oladoyin Ogundayimi and host of others that graced the occasion. The dedication and the sacrifice of the planning committee and coordinators across the length and breadth of Ile-Oluji Kingdom is well celebrated.
The Youth organisation equally express profound gratitude to the revered Kabiyesi of the city, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Olufaderin Adetimehin, the Jegun of Ile Oluji, Olori Adetokunbo, the Jegun in Council, Patrons, Matrons as well as leaders who believed it can make things happen positively.
As the festival drew to a close, the message was clear: the future lies in the hands of the empowered, and through determination, collaboration, and clear vision, rapid growth and development is possible.
