 ONDO GOVERNMENT REITERATES COMMITMENT TO AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT, FOOD SECURITY 

...Implores strategic stakeholders to invest in tech-agriculture

The Commissioner for Agriculture and Forestry, Engr. Leye Akinola has called on the private sector, groups, and individuals to support the government towards making life better for the people through agriculture .





Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Agriculture Sub-Sector in the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Mrs Foluke Tunde-Daramola, the Commissioner who commended the CEO, Farm Ease Global Limited, Michael Adeyiwolu, for the construction of solar-powered dryer project in Aule, Akure, said the project will benefit farmers and reduce post-harvest losses.


He said that in the 21st century, farmers should have access to newest innovations,as it will make farming easier, enhance and expand their businesses, and promote climate-smart practise

He added that the government is currently developing 32,000 hectares of farmland under the Integrated Food Security Programme and is ready to partner with individuals or any group willing to invest in any of the agricultural value chains. He stressed that agriculture is a very good business and urged youth to emulate Adeyiwolu's foresight and harness the potential in agriculture.


Bishop Felix Adejumo of Agape Church also commended Adeyiwolu's initiative and urged the government to replicate the dryer system across local governments to reduce post-harvest losses

In his speech, the Initiator of the Solar-Powered Dryer Project, Michael Adeyiwolu, stated that it was a huge milestone for Farm Eaze Global Limited He stressed that the commissioning of the solar-powered dryer is a solution to one of the biggest challenges farmers face - post-harvest losses due to poor preservation, storage, and limited post-harvest solutions.
