ONDO STATE DIRECTOR OF VETERINARY SERVICES, EHINMOWO, BURIES MOM IN GRAND STYLE
The Ondo State Director of Veterinary Services, Dr. Adebayo Ehinmowo, on Saturday, 13th June, 2026, led his siblings and family members to give their mother a befitting burial in Okitipupa.
The late mother, Mrs. Stella Oseyemi Ehinmowo (née Akinbo), until her death, was a retired teacher, grassroots politician, and one of the pillars of the women’s society in Ikale land. She was once a Supervisory Councillor in Okitipupa Local Government and a woman who dedicated her life to serving God and humanity.
In his sermon, Pastor Segun Abioye, said death is inevitable and that nothing living will escape it, no matter the number of years spent. He stressed that what matters is the impact one makes in life.
“A believer ends with God in heaven, while sinners end in hell. That is why people must accept God,” he said. He added that death is a passage to eternity and after death comes judgment.
The man of God noted that heaven is real, just as hell is, and that the righteous will gain heaven while sinners will end up in hell. He urged Christians to ensure they inherit the kingdom of God, which has been prepared for them.
Speaking on his mother’s legacies, Dr. Adebayo Ehinmowo, eulogized his late mother and described her as a caring woman and dedicated christian who showed love to everyone around her. He revealed that his mother lost her husband 41 years ago when she was 38 years old and never remarried until she passed on. He said she was one in a million who became both mother and father after her husband’s demise.
He said his mother served God with all her heart and always gave thanks to Him. Hence, during her lifetime, she was nicknamed “Praise the Lord” because she believed so much in praising God at all times.
Dr. Ehinmowo added that his mother was a generous woman who could give away her dinner to the hungry and go to bed on an empty stomach without showing it on her face. He said Mama derived joy in putting smiles on people’s faces, especially the needy.
He noted that his mother’s life was a testimony of strength, faith, and devotion to the things of God, adding that words could hardly capture who she was to her children.
He appreciated everyone who supported them to bid his mother farewell. He also thanked the Akinola family, whose daughter had gone to meet her creator, and extended his appreciation to the Ehinmowo family of Mahin Kingdom in Ilaje LGA for standing by them since the demise of their father. He noted that if the Ehinmowos were bad, Mama could have remarried, but she stood and remained in the family until God called her.
He prayed that God would grant her peaceful rest and that none of his children would die an untimely death.
The funeral service was held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Holiness Cathedral, Adeyemi Avenue, Okitipupa. Interment followed at her residence, while the reception was held at the A & S Event Hall along Erinje Road, Okitipupa.
The event attracted top government functionaries, including Mrs. Foluke Tunde-Daramola, Permanent Secretary, Agriculture Sector, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry; Mrs. Tolu Adeyemi, Permanent Secretary, Regional Integration and Diaspora Affairs; and Mr. Olusoji Olatunji of FADAMA/ONDOCARES, among others.
