WAR AGAINST COUNTERFEITING: ONDO TASKFORCE IMPOUNDS TRAILER LOAD OF ADULTERATED COCOA BEANS WORTH N200M As part of efforts geared towards putting an end to adulterated cocoa beans in the State's agricultural chain, Ondo State Government, through the Produce Sub-Sector of its Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, has impounded a trailer loaded with dried cocoa placentas and cocoa puds, used as adulterants for cocoa beans.  Following tip off and collaborative efforts of Cocoa Merchants, the Produce Department's vigilant staff caught the suspects while they were offloading the trailer at a secluded location in Ondo town, headquarters of Ondo West Local Government Area.   ONDO COMMISSIONER EXONERATES AKEREDOLU FROM SALE OF TRACTORS Ondo State Commissioner for Agriculture and Forestry, Chief Aribo Olayato, has rebuked news published by some sections of the media that the former Governor of the State, Late Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, indiscriminately sold government-owned tractors to members of the public.  In a press statement issued by the Press Officer, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Mr. Sola Omoboyowa, Olayato said the  government of Late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu bought tractors and sold to interested farmers at subksidised rates to encourage large-scale farming , adding that some farmers have paid in full, while others are still paying in instalment.  Chief Aribo stated that it is an approved government policy that farmers should be encouraged to engage in mechanised  farming so as to boost food production in the State; noting that the government therefore procured tractors and sold to farmers at subsi...
